  1. Because of this did God give them up to dishonourable affections, for even their females did change the natural use into that against nature;

  2. and in like manner also the males having left the natural use of the female, did burn in their longing toward one another; males with males working shame, and the recompense of their error that was fit, in themselves receiving.

  3. And, according as they did not approve of having God in knowledge, God gave them up to a disapproved mind, to do the things not seemly;

  4. having been filled with all unrighteousness, whoredom, wickedness, covetousness, malice; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil dispositions; whisperers,

  5. have ye not known that the unrighteous the reign of God shall not inherit? be not led astray; neither whoremongers, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor sodomites,

  6. nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, the reign of God shall inherit.

  7. Have ye not known that your bodies are members of Christ? having taken, then, the members of the Christ, shall I make them members of an harlot? let it be not!

  8. have ye not known that he who is joined to the harlot is one body? `for they shall be--saith He--the two for one flesh.'

  9. And he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit;

  10. flee the whoredom; every sin--whatever a man may commit--is without the body, and he who is committing whoredom, against his own body doth sin.

  11. And manifest also are the works of the flesh, which are: Adultery, whoredom, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

  12. idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, strifes, emulations, wraths, rivalries, dissensions, sects,

  13. envyings, murders, drunkennesses, revellings, and such like, of which I tell you before, as I also said before, that those doing such things the reign of God shall not inherit.

  14. This, then, I say, and I testify in the Lord; ye are no more to walk, as also the other nations walk, in the vanity of their mind,

  15. being darkened in the understanding, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their heart,

  16. who, having ceased to feel, themselves did give up to the lasciviousness, for the working of all uncleanness in greediness;

  17. no more in the desires of men, but in the will of God, to live the rest of the time in the flesh;

  18. for sufficient to us is the past time of life the will of the nations to have wrought, having walked in lasciviousnesses, desires, excesses of wines, revellings, drinking-bouts, and unlawful idolatries,
