  1. that those under law he may redeem, that the adoption of sons we may receive;

  2. and now, in Christ Jesus, ye being once afar off became nigh in the blood of the Christ,

  3. for he is our peace, who did make both one, and the middle wall of the enclosure did break down,

  4. the enmity in his flesh, the law of the commands in ordinances having done away, that the two he might create in himself into one new man, making peace,

  5. and might reconcile both in one body to God through the cross, having slain the enmity in it,

  6. and having come, he did proclaim good news--peace to you--the far-off and the nigh,

  7. because through him we have the access--we both--in one Spirit unto the Father.

  8. because in him it did please all the fulness to tabernacle,

  9. and through him to reconcile the all things to himself--having made peace through the blood of his cross--through him, whether the things upon the earth, whether the things in the heavens.

  10. And you--once being alienated, and enemies in the mind, in the evil works, yet now did he reconcile,

  11. in the body of his flesh through the death, to present you holy, and unblemished, and unblameable before himself,

  12. because God did not appoint us to anger, but to the acquiring of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,

  13. who did die for us, that whether we wake--whether we sleep--together with him we may live;

  14. for one is God, one also is mediator of God and of men, the man Christ Jesus,

  15. who did give himself a ransom for all--the testimony in its own times--

  16. neither through blood of goats and calves, but through his own blood, did enter in once into the holy places, age-during redemption having obtained;

  17. for if the blood of bulls, and goats, and ashes of an heifer, sprinkling those defiled, doth sanctify to the purifying of the flesh,

  18. how much more shall the blood of the Christ (who through the age-during Spirit did offer himself unblemished to God) purify your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

  19. And because of this, of a new covenant he is mediator, that, death having come, for redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, those called may receive the promise of the age-during inheritance,

  20. nor that he may many times offer himself, even as the chief priest doth enter into the holy places every year with blood of others;

  21. since it had behoved him many times to suffer from the foundation of the world, but now once, at the full end of the ages, for putting away of sin through his sacrifice, he hath been manifested;

  22. For the law having a shadow of the coming good things--not the very image of the matters, every year, by the same sacrifices that they offer continually, is never able to make perfect those coming near,

  23. since, would they not have ceased to be offered, because of those serving having no more conscience of sins, having once been purified?

  24. but in those sacrifices is a remembrance of sins every year,

  25. for it is impossible for blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.
