  1. they say to him, `Teacher, this woman was taken in the very crime--committing adultery,

  2. and in the law, Moses did command us that such be stoned; thou, therefore, what dost thou say?'

  3. And Jesus having bent himself back, and having seen no one but the woman, said to her, `Woman, where are those--thine accusers? did no one pass sentence upon thee?'

  4. and she said, `No one, Sir;' and Jesus said to her, `Neither do I pass sentence on thee; be going on, and no more sin.'

  5. but to write to them to abstain from the pollutions of the idols, and the whoredom, and the strangled thing; and the blood;

  6. to abstain from things offered to idols, and blood, and a strangled thing, and whoredom; from which keeping yourselves, ye shall do well; be strong!'

  7. And, according as they did not approve of having God in knowledge, God gave them up to a disapproved mind, to do the things not seemly;

  8. having been filled with all unrighteousness, whoredom, wickedness, covetousness, malice; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil dispositions; whisperers,

  9. who the righteous judgment of God having known--that those practising such things are worthy of death--not only do them, but also have delight with those practising them.

  10. so, then, the husband being alive, an adulteress she shall be called if she may become another man's; and if the husband may die, she is free from the law, so as not to be an adulteress, having become another man's.

  11. for, `Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false testimony, Thou shalt not covet;' and if there is any other command, in this word it is summed up, in this: `Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself;'

  12. as in day-time, let us walk becomingly; not in revellings and drunkennesses, not in chamberings and lasciviousnesses, not in strife and emulation;

  13. Whoredom is actually heard of among you, and such whoredom as is not even named among the nations--as that one hath the wife of the father! --

  14. and ye are having been puffed up, and did not rather mourn, that he may be removed out of the midst of you who did this work,

  15. for I indeed, as being absent as to the body, and present as to the spirit, have already judged, as being present, him who so wrought this thing:

  16. in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ--ye being gathered together, also my spirit--with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,

  17. to deliver up such a one to the Adversary for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

  18. Not good is your glorying; have ye not known that a little leaven the whole lump doth leaven?

  19. cleanse out, therefore, the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, according as ye are unleavened, for also our passover for us was sacrificed--Christ,

  20. so that we may keep the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of evil and wickedness, but with unleavened food of sincerity and truth.

  21. I did write to you in the epistle, not to keep company with whoremongers--

  22. and not certainly with the whoremongers of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or idolaters, seeing ye ought then to go forth out of the world--

  23. and now, I did write to you not to keep company with him , if any one, being named a brother, may be a whoremonger, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner--with such a one not even to eat together;

  24. for what have I also those without to judge? those within do ye not judge?

  25. and those without God doth judge; and put ye away the evil from among yourselves.
