Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the LORD.
Let us lift up our heart with our hands to God in the heavens.
We have transgressed and have rebelled; you have not pardoned.
But as for them whose heart walks after the heart of their detestable things and their abominations, I will bring their way on their own heads, says the Lord GOD.
Therefore have I poured out my indignation on them; I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath: their own way have I brought on their heads, says the Lord GOD.
You have walked in the way of your sister; therefore will I give her cup into your hand.
Thus says the Lord GOD: You will drink of your sister’s cup, which is deep and large; you will be ridiculed and held in derision; it contains much.
You shall be filled with drunkenness and sorrow, with the cup of astonishment and desolation, with the cup of your sister Samaria.
You shall even drink it and drain it out, and you shall gnaw the broken pieces of it, and shall tear your breasts; for I have spoken it, says the Lord GOD.
Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Because you have forgotten me, and cast me behind your back, therefore you also bear your lewdness and your prostitution.
we have sinned, and have dealt perversely, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even turning aside from your precepts and from your ordinances;
neither have we listened to your servants the prophets, who spoke in your name to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land.
Lord, to us belongs confusion of face, to our kings, to our princes, and to our fathers, because we have sinned against you.
To the Lord our God belong mercies and forgiveness; for we have rebelled against him;
neither have we obeyed the voice of the LORD our God, to walk in his laws, which he set before us by his servants the prophets.
Yes, all Israel have transgressed your law, turning aside, that they should not obey your voice: therefore the curse and the oath written in the Torah of Moses the servant of God has been poured out on us; for we have sinned against him.
Now, Lord our God, who has brought your people out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand, and have gotten yourself renown, as at this day; we have sinned, we have done wickedly.
