  1. On the seventh day God finished his work which he had done; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had done.

  2. God blessed the seventh day, and made it holy, because he rested in it from all his work of creation which he had done.

  3. It shall come to pass on the sixth day, that they shall prepare that which they bring in, and it shall be twice as much as they gather daily.”

  6. They laid it up until the morning, as Moses asked, and it didn’t become foul, neither was there any worm in it.

  7. Moses said, “Eat that today, for today is a Sabbath to the LORD. Today you shall not find it in the field.

  8. Six days you shall gather it, but on the seventh day is the Sabbath. In it there shall be none.”

  9. On the seventh day, some of the people went out to gather, and they found none.

  10. The LORD said to Moses, “How long do you refuse to keep my commandments and my laws?

  11. Behold, because the LORD has given you the Sabbath, therefore he gives you on the sixth day the bread of two days. Everyone stay in his place. Let no one go out of his place on the seventh day.”

  12. So the people rested on the seventh day.

  13. “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.

  14. You shall labor six days, and do all your work,

  15. but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. You shall not do any work in it, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your livestock, nor your stranger who is within your gates;

  16. for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day; therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day, and made it holy.

  17. “Six days you shall do your work, and on the seventh day you shall rest, that your ox and your donkey may have rest, and the son of your handmaid, and the alien may be refreshed.

  18. “Speak also to the children of Israel, saying, ‘Most certainly you shall keep my Sabbaths: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that you may know that I am the LORD who sanctifies you.

  19. You shall keep the Sabbath therefore; for it is holy to you. Everyone who profanes it shall surely be put to death; for whoever does any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people.

  20. Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day is a Sabbath of solemn rest, holy to the LORD. Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day shall surely be put to death.

  21. Therefore the children of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, to observe the Sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.

  22. It is a sign between me and the children of Israel forever; for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.’”

  23. “Six days you shall work, but on the seventh day you shall rest: in plowing time and in harvest you shall rest.

  24. ‘Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be a holy day for you, a Sabbath of solemn rest to the LORD: whoever does any work in it shall be put to death.

  25. You shall kindle no fire throughout your habitations on the Sabbath day.’”
