  1. And on the seventh day God finished his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.

  2. And God blessed the seventh day, and hallowed it; because that in it he rested from all his work which God had created and made.

  8. Six days ye shall gather it; but on the seventh day is the sabbath, in it there shall be none.

  9. And it came to pass on the seventh day, that there went out some of the people to gather, and they found none.

  10. And Jehovah said unto Moses, How long refuse ye to keep my commandments and my laws?

  11. See, for that Jehovah hath given you the sabbath, therefore he giveth you on the sixth day the bread of two days; abide ye every man in his place, let no man go out of his place on the seventh day.

  12. So the people rested on the seventh day.

  13. Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

  14. Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work;

  15. but the seventh day is a sabbath unto Jehovah thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy man-servant, nor thy maid-servant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

  16. for in six days Jehovah made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore Jehovah blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

  17. Six days thou shalt do thy work, and on the seventh day thou shalt rest; that thine ox and thine ass may have rest, and the son of thy handmaid, and the sojourner, may be refreshed.

  18. Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily ye shall keep my sabbaths: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am Jehovah who sanctifieth you.

  19. Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that profaneth it shall surely be put to death; for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people.

  20. Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day is a sabbath of solemn rest, holy to Jehovah: whosoever doeth any work on the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.

  21. Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.

  22. It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days Jehovah made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.
