  1. When the five lords of the Philistines had seen it, they returned to Ekron the same day.

  2. These are the golden tumors which the Philistines returned for a trespass offering to the LORD: for Ashdod one, for Gaza one, for Ashkelon one, for Gath one, for Ekron one;

  3. and the golden mice, according to the number of all the cities of the Philistines belonging to the five lords, both of fortified cities and of country villages, even to the great stone, whereon they set down the LORD’s ark. That stone remains to this day in the field of Joshua of Beth Shemesh.

  10. Then went he down, and dipped himself seven times in the Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God; and his flesh was restored like the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.

  11. He returned to the man of God, he and all his company, and came, and stood before him; and he said, “See now, I know that there is no God in all the earth, but in Israel. Now therefore, please take a gift from your servant.”

  12. Remember his marvelous works that he has done, his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth,

  13. Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the LORD’s glory filled the house.

  14. The priests could not enter into the LORD’s house, because the LORD’s glory filled the LORD’s house.

  15. All the children of Israel looked on, when the fire came down, and the LORD’s glory was on the house; and they bowed themselves with their faces to the ground on the pavement, and worshiped, and gave thanks to the LORD, saying, “For he is good; for his loving kindness endures for ever.”

  16. and refused to obey, neither were they mindful of your wonders that you did among them, but hardened their neck, and in their rebellion appointed a captain to return to their bondage. But you are a God ready to pardon, gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness, and didn’t forsake them.

  17. Hear my teaching, my people. Turn your ears to the words of my mouth.

  18. They didn’t keep God’s covenant, and refused to walk by his Torah.

  19. They forgot his doings, his wondrous works that he had shown them.

  20. He did marvelous things in the sight of their fathers, in the land of Egypt, in the field of Zoan.

  21. He split the sea, and caused them to pass through. He made the waters stand as a heap.

  22. In the daytime he also led them with a cloud, and all night with a light of fire.

  23. He split rocks in the wilderness, and gave them drink abundantly as out of the depths.

  24. He brought streams also out of the rock, and caused waters to run down like rivers.

  25. Yet they still went on to sin against him, to rebel against the Most High in the desert.
