  1. And when the five lords of the Philistines had seen it, they returned to Ekron the same day.

  2. And these are the golden tumors which the Philistines returned for a trespass-offering unto Jehovah: for Ashdod one, for Gaza one, for Ashkelon one, for Gath one, for Ekron one;

  3. and the golden mice, according to the number of all the cities of the Philistines belonging to the five lords, both of fortified cities and of country villages, even unto the great stone, whereon they set down the ark of Jehovah, which stone remaineth unto this day in the field of Joshua the Beth-shemite.

  10. Then went he down, and dipped himself seven times in the Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God; and his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.

  11. And he returned to the man of God, he and all his company, and came, and stood before him; and he said, Behold now, I know that there is no God in all the earth, but in Israel: now therefore, I pray thee, take a present of thy servant.

  12. Remember his marvellous works that he hath done, His wonders, and the judgments of his mouth,

  13. Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt-offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of Jehovah filled the house.

  14. And the priests could not enter into the house of Jehovah, because the glory of Jehovah filled Jehovah’s house.

  15. And all the children of Israel looked on, when the fire came down, and the glory of Jehovah was upon the house; and they bowed themselves with their faces to the ground upon the pavement, and worshipped, and gave thanks unto Jehovah, saying, For he is good; for his lovingkindness endureth for ever.

  16. and refused to obey, neither were mindful of thy wonders that thou didst among them, but hardened their neck, and in their rebellion appointed a captain to return to their bondage. But thou art a God ready to pardon, gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abundant in lovingkindness, and forsookest them not.

  17. Give ear, O my people, to my law: Incline your ears to the words of my mouth.

  18. They kept not the covenant of God, And refused to walk in his law;

  19. And they forgat his doings, And his wondrous works that he had showed them.

  20. Marvellous things did he in the sight of their fathers, In the land of Egypt, in the field of Zoan.

  21. He clave the sea, and caused them to pass through; And he made the waters to stand as a heap.

  22. In the day-time also he led them with a cloud, And all the night with a light of fire.

  23. He clave rocks in the wilderness, And gave them drink abundantly as out of the depths.

  24. He brought streams also out of the rock, And caused waters to run down like rivers.

  25. Yet went they on still to sin against him, To rebel against the Most High in the desert.
