  13. Who knows whether he will be a wise man or a fool? Yet he will have rule over all of my labor in which I have labored, and in which I have shown myself wise under the sun. This also is vanity.

  14. Therefore I began to cause my heart to despair concerning all the labor in which I had labored under the sun.

  15. For there is a man whose labor is with wisdom, with knowledge, and with skillfulness; yet he shall leave it for his portion to a man who has not labored for it. This also is vanity and a great evil.

  16. For what has a man of all his labor, and of the striving of his heart, in which he labors under the sun?

  17. and that you make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, even as we instructed you;

  18. that you may walk properly toward those who are outside, and may have need of nothing.

  19. For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: “If anyone will not work, neither let him eat.”

  20. For we hear of some who walk among you in rebellion, who don’t work at all, but are busybodies.

  21. Now those who are that way, we command and exhort in the Lord Yeshua the Messiah, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.
