  1. “What are the multitude of your sacrifices to me?”, says the LORD. “I have had enough of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed animals. I don’t delight in the blood of bulls, or of lambs, or of male goats.

  2. When you come to appear before me, who has required this at your hand, to trample my courts?

  3. Bring no more vain offerings. Incense is an abomination to me; new moons, Sabbaths, and convocations: I can’t bear with evil assemblies.

  9. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but don’t consider the beam that is in your own eye?

  10. Or how will you tell your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye;’ and behold, the beam is in your own eye?

  11. You hypocrite! First remove the beam out of your own eye, and then you can see clearly to remove the speck out of your brother’s eye.

  12. Then Pharisees and scribes came to Yeshua from Jerusalem, saying,

  13. “Why do your disciples disobey the tradition of the elders? For they don’t wash their hands when they eat bread.”

  14. He answered them, “Why do you also disobey the commandment of God because of your tradition?

  15. But a certain man named Hananiah, with Shappirah, his wife, sold a possession,

  16. and kept back part of the price, his wife also being aware of it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the emissaries’ feet.

  17. But Peter said, “Hananiah, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit, and to keep back part of the price of the land?

  18. While you kept it, didn’t it remain your own? After it was sold, wasn’t it in your power? How is it that you have conceived this thing in your heart? You haven’t lied to men, but to God.”

  19. Hananiah, hearing these words, fell down and died. Great fear came on all who heard these things.

  20. The young men arose and wrapped him up, and they carried him out and buried him.

  21. About three hours later, his wife, not knowing what had happened, came in.

  22. Peter answered her, “Tell me whether you sold the land for so much.” She said, “Yes, for so much.”

  23. Simon himself also believed. Being immersed, he continued with Philip. Seeing signs and great miracles occurring, he was amazed.

  24. Now when the emissaries who were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent Peter and Yochanan to them,

  25. who, when they had come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Spirit;
