  1. This I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and all discernment;

  2. so that you may approve the things that are excellent; that you may be sincere and without offense to the day of Messiah;

  3. being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are through Yeshua the Messiah, to the glory and praise of God.

  4. Not that I have already obtained, or am already made perfect; but I press on, if it is so that I may take hold of that for which also I was taken hold of by Messiah Yeshua.

  5. Brothers, I don’t regard myself as yet having taken hold, but one thing I do. Forgetting the things which are behind, and stretching forward to the things which are before,

  6. I press on toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Messiah Yeshua.

  7. Let us therefore, as many as are perfect, think this way. If in anything you think otherwise, God will also reveal that to you.

  8. that you may walk worthily of the Lord, to please him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;

  9. strengthened with all power, according to the might of his glory, for all endurance and perseverance with joy;

  10. and the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we also do toward you,

  11. to the end he may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father, at the coming of our Lord Yeshua with all his holy ones.

  12. Therefore leaving the teaching of the first principles of Messiah, let us press on to perfection—not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works, of faith toward God,

  13. of the teaching of immersions, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.

  14. This will we do, if God permits.

  15. Putting away therefore all wickedness, all deceit, hypocrisies, envies, and all evil speaking,

  16. as newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the Word, that with it you may grow,

  17. if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious:
