  1. And this is my prayer: that your love may more and more overflow in fullness of knowledge and depth of discernment,

  2. so that you will be able to determine what is best and thus be pure and without blame for the Day of the Messiah,

  3. filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Yeshua the Messiah — to the glory and praise of God.

  4. It is not that I have already obtained it or already reached the goal — no, I keep pursuing it in the hope of taking hold of that for which the Messiah Yeshua took hold of me.

  5. Brothers, I, for my part, do not think of myself as having yet gotten hold of it; but one thing I do: forgetting what is behind me and straining forward toward what lies ahead,

  6. I keep pursuing the goal in order to win the prize offered by God’s upward calling in the Messiah Yeshua.

  7. Therefore, as many of us as are mature, let us keep paying attention to this; and if you are differently minded about anything, God will also reveal this to you.

  8. so that you may live lives worthy of the Lord and entirely pleasing to him, being fruitful in every good work and multiplying in the full knowledge of God.

  9. We pray that you will be continually strengthened with all the power that comes from his glorious might; so that you will be able to persevere and be patient in any situation, joyfully

  10. And as for you, may the Lord make you increase and overflow in love toward each other, indeed, toward everyone, just as we do toward you;

  11. so that he may give you the inner strength to be blameless, by reason of your holiness, when you stand before God our Father at the coming of our Lord Yeshua with all his angels.

  12. Therefore, leaving behind the initial lessons about the Messiah, let us go on to maturity, not laying again the foundation of turning from works that lead to death, trusting God,

  13. and instruction about washings, s’mikhah, the resurrection of the dead and eternal punishment.

  14. And, God willing, this is what we will do.

  15. Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice, of all deceit, hypocrisy and envy, and of all the ways there are of speaking against people;

  16. and be like newborn babies, thirsty for the pure milk of the Word; so that by it, you may grow up into deliverance.

  17. For you have tasted that Adonai is good.
