  1. Aren’t Abanah and Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? Couldn’t I wash in them, and be clean?” So he turned and went away in a rage.

  8. Don’t be afraid because of them; for I am with you to deliver you,” says the LORD.

  9. Then the LORD stretched out his hand, and touched my mouth; and the LORD said to me, “Behold, I have put my words in your mouth.

  10. Behold, I have this day set you over the nations and over the kingdoms, to pluck up and to break down and to destroy and to overthrow, to build and to plant.”

  11. He said to another, “Follow me!” But he said, “Lord, allow me first to go and bury my father.”

  12. But Yeshua said to him, “Leave the dead to bury their own dead, but you go and announce the Kingdom of God.”

  13. Another also said, “I want to follow you, Lord, but first allow me to say good-bye to those who are at my house.”

  14. But Yeshua said to him, “No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the Kingdom of God.”

  15. They all as one began to make excuses. “The first said to him, ‘I have bought a field, and I must go and see it. Please have me excused.’

  16. “Another said, ‘I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I must go try them out. Please have me excused.’

  17. “Another said, ‘I have married a wife, and therefore I can’t come.’
