Bible Verses About Bread

Sigh, but not aloud, make no mourning for the dead; bind your headdress on you, and put your shoes on your feet, and don’t cover your lips, and don’t eat men’s bread.

So I spoke to the people in the morning; and at even my wife died; and I did in the morning as I was commanded.

The people said to me, Won’t you tell us what these things are to us, that you do so?

Then I said to them, the LORD’s word came to me, saying,

Speak to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I will profane my sanctuary, the pride of your power, the desire of your eyes, and that which your soul pities; and your sons and your daughters whom you have left behind shall fall by the sword.

You shall do as I have done: you shall not cover your lips, nor eat the bread of men.

They are all adulterers. They are burning like an oven that the baker stops stirring, from the kneading of the dough, until it is leavened.

On the day of our king, the princes made themselves sick with the heat of wine. He joined his hand with mockers.

For they have prepared their heart like an oven, while they lie in wait. Their baker sleeps all the night. In the morning it burns as a flaming fire.

They are all hot as an oven, and devour their judges. All their kings have fallen. There is no one among them who calls to me.

He commanded the multitudes to sit down on the grass; and he took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, broke and gave the loaves to the disciples, and the disciples gave to the multitudes.

They all ate, and were filled. They took up twelve baskets full of that which remained left over from the broken pieces.

Those who ate were about five thousand men, besides women and children.

Yeshua said to them, “How many loaves do you have?” They said, “Seven, and a few small fish.”

He commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground;

and he took the seven loaves and the fish. He gave thanks and broke them, and gave to the disciples, and the disciples to the multitudes.

They all ate, and were filled. They took up seven baskets full of the broken pieces that were left over.

For the bread of God is that which comes down out of heaven, and gives life to the world.”

They said therefore to him, “Lord, always give us this bread.”

Yeshua said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will not be hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.

For I received from the Lord that which also I delivered to you, that the Lord Yeshua on the night in which he was betrayed took bread.

When he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, “Take, eat. This is my body, which is broken for you. Do this in memory of me.”
