  15. ¶ The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.

  16. Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.

  17. And they shall be afraid and ashamed of Ethiopia their expectation, and of Egypt their glory.

  18. Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

  19. Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:

  20. Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves:

  21. And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it.

  22. ¶ Woe to the rebellious children, saith the LORD, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin:

  23. That walk to go down into Egypt, and have not asked at my mouth; to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, and to trust in the shadow of Egypt!

  24. Therefore shall the strength of Pharaoh be your shame, and the trust in the shadow of Egypt your confusion.

  25. They were all ashamed of a people that could not profit them, nor be an help nor profit, but a shame, and also a reproach.
