  1. Yea, behold, being planted, shall it prosper? shall it not utterly wither, when the east wind toucheth it? it shall wither in the furrows where it grew.

  2. Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.

  8. So they took up Jonah, and cast him forth into the sea: and the sea ceased from her raging.

  9. And it came to pass, when the sun did arise, that God prepared a vehement east wind; and the sun beat upon the head of Jonah, that he fainted, and wished in himself to die, and said, It is better for me to die than to live.

  10. And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

  11. And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.

  12. ¶ And as they departed, Jesus began to say unto the multitudes concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken with the wind?

  13. But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary.

  14. And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased.

  15. And when ye see the south wind blow, ye say, There will be heat; and it cometh to pass.

  16. The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

  17. And the sea arose by reason of a great wind that blew.

  18. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

  19. But not long after there arose against it a tempestuous wind, called Euroclydon.

  20. And we being exceedingly tossed with a tempest, the next day they lightened the ship;

  21. That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

  22. Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth.

  23. And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.
