  1. ¶ For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To day if ye will hear his voice,

  2. Harden not your heart, as in the provocation, and as in the day of temptation in the wilderness:

  3. And he remembered for them his covenant, and repented according to the multitude of his mercies.

  4. The LORD hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.

  5. For the LORD will judge his people, and he will repent himself concerning his servants.

  12. When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.

  13. Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:

  14. For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:

  15. They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.

  16. Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.

  17. For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.

  18. But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.

  19. Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding.

  20. ¶ Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.

  21. ¶ He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.

  22. ¶ Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil;

  23. Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.

  24. The remnant shall return, even the remnant of Jacob, unto the mighty God.

  25. And in that day did the Lord GOD of hosts call to weeping, and to mourning, and to baldness, and to girding with sackcloth:
