  1. ¶ Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.

  2. Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces.

  3. The LORD shall bless thee out of Zion: and thou shalt see the good of Jerusalem all the days of thy life.

  14. Is there no balm in Gilead; is there no physician there? why then is not the health of the daughter of my people recovered?

  15. ¶ Oh that my head were waters, and mine eyes a fountain of tears, that I might weep day and night for the slain of the daughter of my people!

  16. Oh that I had in the wilderness a lodging place of wayfaring men; that I might leave my people, and go from them! for they be all adulterers, an assembly of treacherous men.

  17. ¶ Remember, O LORD, what is come upon us: consider, and behold our reproach.

  18. Our inheritance is turned to strangers, our houses to aliens.

  19. We are orphans and fatherless, our mothers are as widows.

  20. We have drunken our water for money; our wood is sold unto us.

  21. Our necks are under persecution: we labour, and have no rest.

  22. We have given the hand to the Egyptians, and to the Assyrians, to be satisfied with bread.

  23. Our fathers have sinned, and are not; and we have borne their iniquities.

  24. Servants have ruled over us: there is none that doth deliver us out of their hand.

  25. We gat our bread with the peril of our lives because of the sword of the wilderness.
