  1. So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ:

  2. ¶ Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

  3. Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;

  4. But in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses,

  5. In stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labours, in watchings, in fastings;

  6. By pureness, by knowledge, by longsuffering, by kindness, by the Holy Ghost, by love unfeigned,

  7. Truly the signs of an apostle were wrought among you in all patience, in signs, and wonders, and mighty deeds.

  8. For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.

  9. And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

  10. ¶ I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,

  11. ¶ With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;

  12. That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;

  13. Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;

  14. ¶ Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;

  15. Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.

  16. Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;

  17. Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.

  18. So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure:

  19. And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.

  20. A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;

  21. Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;

  22. But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

  23. And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,

  24. In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;

  25. ¶ But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience,
