  1. And they did not receive him, because his face was as though he would go to Jerusalem.

  2. But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,

  3. And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.

  4. And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.

  12. Then cometh he to a city of Samaria, which is called Sychar, near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.

  13. Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans.

  14. Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle?

  15. Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.

  16. Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.

  17. The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.

  18. Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?

  19. And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him for the saying of the woman, which testified, He told me all that ever I did.

  20. So when the Samaritans were come unto him, they besought him that he would tarry with them: and he abode there two days.

  21. And many more believed because of his own word;

  22. And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.

  23. Then answered the Jews, and said unto him, Say we not well that thou art a Samaritan, and hast a devil?

  24. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

  25. ¶ And Saul was consenting unto his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles.
