  1. ¶ Bow down thine ear, and hear the words of the wise, and apply thine heart unto my knowledge.

  2. For it is a pleasant thing if thou keep them within thee; they shall withal be fitted in thy lips.

  3. That thy trust may be in the LORD, I have made known to thee this day, even to thee.

  12. Children in whom was no blemish, but well favoured, and skilful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and understanding science, and such as had ability in them to stand in the king's palace, and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans.

  13. And the king appointed them a daily provision of the king's meat, and of the wine which he drank: so nourishing them three years, that at the end thereof they might stand before the king.

  14. ¶ As for these four children, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom: and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.

  15. Now at the end of the days that the king had said he should bring them in, then the prince of the eunuchs brought them in before Nebuchadnezzar.

  16. And the king communed with them; and among them all was found none like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah: therefore stood they before the king.

  17. And in all matters of wisdom and understanding, that the king enquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers that were in all his realm.

  18. ¶ And it came to pass, that on one of those days, as he taught the people in the temple, and preached the gospel, the chief priests and the scribes came upon him with the elders,

  19. And spake unto him, saying, Tell us, by what authority doest thou these things? or who is he that gave thee this authority?

  20. And in the day time he was teaching in the temple; and at night he went out, and abode in the mount that is called the mount of Olives.

  21. And all the people came early in the morning to him in the temple, for to hear him.

  22. And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.

  23. Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles?

  24. Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

  25. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.
