  1. Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;

  2. That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:

  8. And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me.

  9. For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.

  10. If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?

  11. Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?

  12. ¶ Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.

  13. Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

  14. In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

  15. ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

  16. He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
