  1. But he said vnto them, Be not so troubled: ye seeke Iesus of Nazareth, which hath bene crucified: he is risen, he is not here: behold the place where they put him.

  2. And when Iesus was risen againe, early the first day of the weeke, he appeared first to Marie Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seuen deuils:

  3. And there followed him a great multitude of people, and of women, which women bewailed and lamented him.

  4. But Iesus turned backe vnto them, and said, Daughters of Hierusalem, weepe not for me, but weepe for your selues, and for your children.

  5. And all his acquaintance stood a farre off, and the women that followed him from Galile, beholding these things.

  6. And the women also that followed after, which came with him from Galile, behelde the sepulchre, and how his body was layd.

  7. And they returned and prepared odours, and ointments, and rested the Sabbath day according to the commandement.

  8. Nowe the first day of the weeke early in the morning, they came vnto the sepulchre, and brought the odours, which they had prepared, and certaine women with them.

  9. And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre,

  10. And went in, but found not the body of the Lord Iesus.

  11. And it came to passe, that as they were amased thereat, beholde, two men suddenly stood by them in shining vestures.

  12. And as they were afraide, and bowed downe their faces to the earth, they sayd to them, Why seeke ye him that liueth, among the dead?

  13. He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake vnto you, when he was yet in Galile,

  14. Saying, that the sonne of man must be deliuered into the hands of sinfull men, and be crucified, and the third day rise againe.

  15. And they remembred his wordes,

  16. And returned from the sepulchre, and tolde all these things vnto the eleuen, and to all the remnant.

  17. Now it was Mary Magdalene, and Ioanna, and Mary the mother of Iames, and other women with them, which tolde these things vnto the Apostles.

  18. When she had thus said, she turned her selfe backe, and sawe Iesus standing, and knewe not that it was Iesus.

  19. Iesus saith vnto her, Woman, why weepest thou? whom seekest thou? She supposing that he had bene the gardener, said vnto him, Sir, if thou hast borne him hence, tell me where thou hast laid him, and I will take him away.

  20. Iesus saith vnto her, Marie. She turned her selfe, and said vnto him, Rabboni, which is to say, Master.

  21. Iesus saith vnto her, Touch me not: for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but goe to my brethren, and say vnto them, I ascend vnto my Father, and to your Father, and to my God, and your God.

  22. Marie Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seene the Lord, and that he had spoken these things vnto her.

  23. These all continued with one accorde in prayer and supplication with the women, and Marie the mother of Iesus, and with his brethren.

  24. And as he considered the thing, he came to the house of Marie, the mother of Iohn, whose surname was Marke, where many were gathered together, and prayed.

  25. And when Peter knocked at the entrie doore, a maide came foorth to hearken, named Rhode,
