  1. He looketh vpon men, and if one say, I haue sinned, and peruerted righteousnesse, and it did not profite me,

  2. He will deliuer his soule from going into the pit, and his life shall see the light.

  3. Lo, all these things will God worke twise or thrise with a man,

  4. That he may turne backe his soule from the pit, to be illuminate in the light of the liuing.

  5. Then they crye because of the violence of the wicked, but he answereth not.

  6. Surely God will not heare vanitie, neyther will the Almightie regard it.

  7. Blessed is the man that doeth not walke in the counsell of the wicked, nor stand in the way of sinners, nor sit in ye seate of the scornefull:

  8. But his delite is in the Lawe of the Lord, and in his Lawe doeth he meditate day and night.

  9. For he shall be like a tree planted by the riuers of waters, that will bring foorth her fruite in due season: whose leafe shall not fade: so whatsoeuer he shall doe, shall prosper.

  10. The wicked are not so, but as the chaffe, which the winde driueth away.

  11. Therefore the wicked shall not stande in the iudgement, nor sinners in the assemblie of the righteous.

  12. For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous, and the way of the wicked shall perish.

  13. The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: for thou hatest all them that worke iniquitie.

  14. Thou shalt destroy them that speake lyes: the Lord will abhorre the bloodie man and deceitfull.

  15. For no constancie is in their mouth: within, they are very corruption: their throte is an open sepulchre, and they flatter with their tongue.

  16. God iudgeth the righteous, and him that contemneth God euery day.

  17. Beholde, hee shall trauaile with wickednes: for he hath conceiued mischiefe, but he shall bring foorth a lye.

  18. Hee hath made a pitte and digged it, and is fallen into the pit that he made.

  19. His mischiefe shall returne vpon his owne head, and his crueltie shall fall vpon his owne pate.

  20. The wicked is so proude that hee seeketh not for God: hee thinketh alwayes, There is no God.

  21. His wayes alway prosper: thy iudgements are hie aboue his sight: therefore defieth he all his enemies.

  22. He saith in his heart, I shall neuer be moued, nor be in danger.

  23. His mouth is full of cursing and deceite and fraude: vnder his tongue is mischiefe and iniquitie.

  24. He lieth in waite in the villages: in the secret places doeth hee murder the innocent: his eyes are bent against the poore.

  25. He lyeth in waite secretly, euen as a lyon in his denne: he lyeth in waite to spoyle the poore: he doeth spoyle the poore, when he draweth him into his net.
