  1. There is that maketh himselfe riche, and hath nothing, and that maketh himselfe poore, hauing great riches.

  2. He that will finde his life, shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake, shall finde it.

  3. For whosoeuer will saue his life, shall lose it: and whosoeuer shall lose his life for my sake, shall finde it.

  4. For whosoeuer will saue his life, shall lose it: but whosoeuer shall lose his life for my sake and the Gospels, he shall saue it.

  5. Whosoeuer will seeke to saue his soule, shall loose it: and whosoeuer shall loose it, shall get it life.

  6. He that loueth his life, shall lose it, and he that hateth his life in this world, shall keepe it vnto life eternall.

  7. Let no man deceiue himselfe: If any man among you seeme to be wise in this world, let him be a foole, that he may be wise.

  8. But in all things we approue our selues as the ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses,

  9. By honour, and dishonour, by euill report, and good report, as deceiuers, and yet true:

  10. As vnknowen, and yet knowen: as dying, and beholde, we liue: as chastened, and yet not killed:

  11. As sorowing, and yet alway reioycing: as poore, and yet make many riche: as hauing nothing, and yet possessing all things.

  12. How that he was taken vp into Paradise, and heard words which cannot be spoken, which are not possible for man to vtter.

  13. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproches, in necessities, in persecutions, in anguish for Christes sake: for when I am weake, then am I strong.

  14. I was a foole to boast my selfe: yee haue compelled mee: for I ought to haue bene commended of you: for in nothing was I inferiour vnto the very chiefe Apostles, though I bee nothing.

  15. That Christ may dwell in your heartes by faith:

  16. That ye, being rooted and grounded in loue, may be able to comprehend with al Saints, what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height:

  17. And to knowe the loue of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye may be filled with all fulnesse of God.

  18. But the thinges that were vantage vnto me, the same I counted losse for Christes sake.

  19. And ye building of the wall of it was of Iasper: and the citie was pure golde, like vnto cleare glasse.

  20. And the twelue gates were twelue pearles, and euery gate is of one pearle, and the streete of the citie is pure golde, as shining glasse.
