  1. Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw behind his back a ram, amongst the briers, sticking fast by the horns, which he took and offered for a holocaust instead of his son.

  13. He is not here. For he is risen, as he said. Come, and see the place where the Lord was laid.

  14. And going quickly, tell ye his disciples that he is risen. And behold he will go before you into Galilee. There you shall see him. Lo, I have foretold it to you.

  15. And behold, Jesus met them, saying: All hail. But they came up and took hold of his feet and adored him.

  16. Who when they were departed, behold, some of the guards came into the city and told the chief priests all things that had been done.

  17. And they being assembled together with the ancients, taking counsel, gave a great sum of money to the soldiers,

  18. Saying: Say you, His disciples came by night and stole him away when we were asleep.

  19. And if the governor shall hear of this, we will persuade him and secure you.

  20. So they taking the money, did as they were taught: and this word was spread abroad among the Jews even unto this day.

  21. And the eleven disciples went into Galilee, unto the mountain where Jesus had appointed them.

  22. And seeing him they adored: but some doubted.

  23. And they kept the word to themselves; questioning together what that should mean, when he shall be risen from the dead.

  24. And they asked him, saying: Why then do the Pharisees and scribes say that Elias must come first?

  25. But after I shall be risen again, I will go before you into Galilee.
