  1. Then shalt thou accept the sacrifice of justice, oblations and whole burnt offerings: then shall they lay calves upon thy altar.

  2. God shall hear, and afflict them, even he that abideth of old. Selah. Because they have no changes, therefore they fear not God.

  3. Because I called, and you refused: I stretched out my hand, and there was none that regarded.

  4. You have despised all my counsel, and have neglected my reprehensions.

  5. I also will laugh in your destruction, and will mock when that shall come to you which you feared.

  6. When sudden calamity shall fall on you, and destruction, as a tempest, shall be at hand: when tribulation and distress shall come upon you:

  7. Then shall they call upon me, and I will not hear: they shall rise in the morning, and shall not find me:

  8. Because they have hated instruction, and received not the fear of the Lord,

  9. Nor consented to my counsel, but despised all my reproof.

  10. Therefore they shall eat the fruit of their own way, and shall be filled with their own devices.

  11. For because sentence is not speedily pronounced against the evil, the children of men commit evils without any fear.

  12. But though a sinner do evil a hundred times, and by patience be borne withal, I know from thence that it shall be well with them that fear God, who dread his face.

  13. But let it not be well with the wicked, neither let his days be prolonged, but as a shadow let them pass away that fear not the face of the Lord.

  14. How long, O Lord, shall I cry, and thou wilt not hear? shall I cry out to thee suffering violence, and thou wilt not save?

  15. Why hast thou shewn me iniquity and grievance, to see rapine and injustice before me? and there is a judgment, but opposition is more powerful.

  16. Therefore the law is torn in pieces, and judgment cometh not to the end: because the wicked prevaileth against the just, therefore wrong judgment goeth forth.
