  1. Thou shall draw waters with joy out of the saviour's fountains:

  2. And you shall say in that day: Praise ye the Lord, and call upon his name: make his works known among the people: remember that his name is high.

  3. Sing ye to the Lord, for he hath done great things: shew this forth in all the earth.

  4. Rejoice, and praise, O thou habitation of Sion: for great is he that is in the midst of thee, the Holy One of Israel.

  5. The land that was desolate and impassable shall be glad, and the wilderness shall rejoice, and shall flourish like the lily.

  9. Rejoice with Jerusalem, and be glad with her, all you that love her: rejoice for joy with her, all you that mourn for her.

  10. That you may suck, and be filled with the breasts of her consolations: that you may milk out, and flow with delights, from the abundance of her glory.

  11. For thus saith the Lord: Behold I will bring upon her as it were a river of peace, and as an overflowing torrent the glory of the Gentiles, which you shall suck; you shall be carried at the breasts, and upon the knees they shall caress you.

  12. Hear the word of the Lord, O ye nations, and declare it in the islands that are afar off, and say: He that scattered Israel will gather him: and he will keep him as the shepherd doth his flock.

  13. For the Lord hath redeemed Jacob, and delivered him out of the hand of one that was mightier than he.

  14. And they shall come, and shall give praise in mount Sion: and they shall flow together to the good things of the Lord, for the corn, and wine, and oil, and the increase of cattle and herds, and their soul shall be as a watered garden, and they shall be hungry no more.

  15. Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance, the young men and old men together: and I will turn their mourning into joy, and will comfort them, and make them joyful after their sorrow.

  16. And I will fill the soul of the priests with fatness: and my people shall be filled with my good things, saith the Lord.

  17. For I have inebriated the weary soul: and I have filled every hungry soul.

  18. Upon this I was as it were awaked out of a sleep, and I saw, and my sleep was sweet to me.

  19. Blessed shall you be when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you and shall reproach you and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake.

  20. Be glad in that day and rejoice: for behold, your reward is great in heaven, For according to these things did their fathers to the prophets.

  21. And coming home, call together his friends and neighbours, saying to them: Rejoice with me, because I have found my sheep that was lost?

  22. I say to you that even so there shall be joy in heaven upon one sinner that doth penance, more than upon ninety-nine just who need not penance.

  23. Or what woman having ten groats, if she lose one groat, doth not light a candle and sweep the house and seek diligently until she find it?

  24. So I say to you, there shall be joy before the angels of God upon one sinner doing penance.

  25. And he said: A certain man had two sons.
