  1. And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.

  2. And returning to himself, he said: How many hired servants in my father's house abound with bread, and I here perish with hunger!

  10. Now his elder son was in the field and when he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard music and dancing.

  11. And he called one of the servants, and asked what these things meant.

  12. And he said to him: Thy brother is come and thy father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received him safe.

  13. And Peter opening his mouth, said: in very deed I perceive that God is not a respecter of persons.

  14. But in every nation, he that feareth him and worketh justice is acceptable to him.

  15. And we declare unto you that the promise which was made to our fathers,

  16. This same God hath fulfilled to our children, raising up Jesus, as in the second psalm also is written: Thou art my Son: this day have I begotten thee.

  17. God, who made the world and all things therein, he being Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands.

  18. Neither is he served with men's hands, as though he needed any thing: seeing it is he who giveth to all life and breath and all things:

  19. And hath made of one, all mankind, to dwell upon the whole face of the earth, determining appointed times and the limits of their habitation.

  20. Because that which is known of God is manifest in them. For God hath manifested it unto them.

  21. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made. His eternal power also and divinity: so that they are inexcusable.

  22. For what if some of them have not believed? Shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect? God forbid!

  23. But God is true and every man a liar, as it is written: That thou mayest be justified in thy words and mayest overcome when thou art judged.

  24. What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who is against us?

  25. He that spared not even his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how hath he not also, with him, given us all things?
