  1. And David arose and fled that day from the face of Saul: and came to Achis, the king of Geth:

  2. And the servants of Achis, when they saw David, said to him: Is not this David, the king of the land? Did they not sing to him in their dances, saying: Saul hath slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands?

  3. But David laid up these words in his heart, and was exceedingly afraid at the face of Achis, the king of Geth.

  9. And it was told Saul that David was fled to Geth, and he sought no more after him.

  10. And David said to Achis: If I have found favour in thy sight, let a place be given me in one of the cities of this country, that I may dwell there: for why should thy servant dwell in the royal city with thee?

  11. Then Achis gave him Siceleg that day: for which reason Siceleg belongeth to the kings of Juda unto this day.

  12. And the time that David dwelt in the country of the Philistines, was four months.
