  13. Go up into this mountain Abarim, (that is to say, of passages,) unto mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab over against Jericho: and see the land of Chanaan, which I will deliver to the children of Israel to possess, and die thou in the mountain.

  14. Then Moses went up from the plains of Moab upon mount Nebo, to the top of Phasga over against Jericho: and the Lord shewed him all the land of Galaad as far as Dan.

  15. And Moses the servant of the Lord died there, in the land of Moab, by the commandment of the Lord:

  16. And he buried him in the valley of the land of Moab over against Phogor: and no man hath known of his sepulchre until this present day.

  17. And the children of Israel mourned for him in the plains of Moab thirty days: and the days of their mourning in which they mourned Moses were ended.

  18. This possession Moses divided in the plains of Moab, beyond the Jordan, over against Jericho on the east side,

  19. And Balac son of Sephor king of Moab arose and fought against Israel. And he sent and called for Balaam son of Beor, to curse you:

  20. And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the Lord: who strengthened against them Eglon, king of Moab: because they did evil in his sight.

  21. And the children of Israel served Eglon, king of Moab, eighteen years.

  22. And afterwards they cried to the Lord, who raised them up a saviour, called Aod, the son of Cera, the son of Jemini, who used the left hand as well as the right. And the children of Israel sent presents to Eglon, king of Moab, by him.

  23. And he presented the gifts to Eglon, king of Moab Now Eglon was exceeding fat.

  24. And Moab was humbled that day under the hand of Israel: and the land rested eighty years.

  25. But the children of Israel, adding new sins to their old ones, did evil in the sight of the Lord, and served idols, Baalim and Astaroth, and the gods of Syria, and of Sidon, and of Moab, and of the children of Ammon, and of the Philistines: and they left the Lord, and did not serve him.
