  1. And mitres with their little crowns of fine linen:

  2. They made also the plate of sacred veneration of the purest gold, and they wrote on it with the engraving of a lapidary: The Holy of the Lord:

  3. And they fastened it to the mitre with a violet fillet, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

  4. So all the work of the tabernacle and of the roof of the testimony was finished: and the children of Israel did all things which the Lord had commanded Moses.

  10. So in the first month of the second year, the first day of the month, the tabernacle was set up.

  11. And Moses reared it up, and placed the boards and the sockets and the bars, and set up the pillars,

  12. And when he had brought the ark into the tabernacle, he drew the veil before it to fulfil the commandment of the Lord.

  13. Setting there in order the loaves of proposition, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

  14. Placing the lamps in order, according to the precept of the Lord.

  15. And burnt upon it the incense of spices, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

  16. And the altar of holocaust in the entry of the testimony, offering the holocaust, and the sacrifices upon it, as the Lord had commanded.

  17. And Moses and Aaron, and his sons, washed their hands and feet,

  18. The cloud covered the tabernacle of the testimony, and the glory of the Lord filled it.

  19. If at any time the cloud removed from the tabernacle, the children of Israel went forward by their troops:

  20. If it hung over, they remained in the same place.

  21. For the cloud of the LORD was upon the tabernacle by day, and fire was on it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys.

  22. And the Lord called Moses, and spoke to him from the tabernacle of the testimony, saying:

  23. Speak to the children of Israel, and thou shalt say to them: The man among you that shall offer to the Lord a sacrifice of the cattle, that is, offering victims of oxen and sheep:

  24. If his offering be a holocaust, and of the herd, he shall offer a male without blemish, at the door of the testimony, to make the Lord favourable to him.

  25. And he shall immolate the calf before the Lord: and the priests the sons of Aaron shall offer the blood thereof, pouring it round about the altar, which is before the door of the tabernacle.
