  1. Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because on that day He rested from all the work of creation that He had accomplished.

  9. For how then can it be known that Your people and I have found favor in Your sight, unless You go with us? How else will we be distinguished from all the other people on the face of the earth?”

  10. Take the anointing oil and anoint the tabernacle and everything in it; consecrate it along with all its furnishings, and it shall be holy.

  11. Anoint the altar of burnt offering and all its utensils; consecrate the altar, and it shall be most holy.

  12. Anoint the basin and its stand and consecrate them.

  13. Then bring Aaron and his sons to the entrance to the Tent of Meeting and wash them with water.

  14. And you are to clothe Aaron with the holy garments, anoint him, and consecrate him, so that he may serve Me as a priest.

  15. Bring his sons forward and clothe them with tunics.

  16. Anoint them just as you anointed their father, so that they may also serve Me as priests. Their anointing will qualify them for a permanent priesthood throughout their generations.”

  17. Then the cloud covered the Tent of Meeting, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.

  18. Moses was unable to enter the Tent of Meeting because the cloud had settled on it, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.

  19. And you shall keep My statutes and practice them. I am the LORD who sanctifies you.

  20. Then the LORD said to Moses, “Speak to Aaron’s sons, the priests, and tell them that a priest is not to defile himself for a dead person among his people,

  21. except for his immediate family—his mother, father, son, daughter, or brother,

  22. or his unmarried sister who is near to him, since she has no husband.

  23. He is not to defile himself for those related to him by marriage, and so profane himself.

  24. Priests must not make bald spots on their heads, shave off the edges of their beards, or make cuts in their bodies.

  25. They must be holy to their God and not profane the name of their God. Because they present to the LORD the offerings made by fire, the food of their God, they must be holy.
