  1. The good man brings good things out of his good store of treasure, and the evil man brings evil things out of his evil store of treasure.

  3. Then it says, ‘I will return to the house I left.’ On its return, it finds the house vacant, swept clean, and put in order.

  5. He told them still another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like leaven that a woman took and mixed into three measures of flour, until all of it was leavened.”

  6. “Truly I tell you,” He said, “unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

  7. Still others are like the seeds sown on good soil. They hear the word, receive it, and produce a crop—thirtyfold, sixtyfold, or a hundredfold.”

  8. Jesus also said, “The kingdom of God is like a man who scatters seed on the ground.

  9. Night and day he sleeps and wakes, and the seed sprouts and grows, though he knows not how.

  10. All by itself the earth produces a crop—first the stalk, then the head, then grain that ripens within.

  11. And as soon as the grain is ripe, he swings the sickle, because the harvest has come.”

  12. But Jesus would not allow him. “Go home to your own people,” He said, “and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and what mercy He has shown you.”

  13. So the man went away and began to proclaim throughout the Decapolis how much Jesus had done for him. And everyone was amazed.

  14. Truly I tell you, anyone who does not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”

  15. Many of the sons of Israel he will turn back to the Lord their God.

  16. And he will go on before the Lord in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous—to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.”

  17. So the people went out to see what had happened. They came to Jesus and found the man whom the demons had left, sitting at Jesus’ feet, clothed and in his right mind; and they were afraid.

  18. The man whom the demons had left begged to go with Jesus. But He sent him away, saying,

  19. “Return home and describe how much God has done for you.” So the man went away and proclaimed all over the town how much Jesus had done for him.

  21. Truly I tell you, anyone who does not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”

  22. In Him was life, and that life was the light of men.

  24. From His fullness we have all received grace upon grace.

  25. Jesus replied, “Truly, truly, I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.”
