  1. “I will surely be with you,” God said, “and this will be the sign to you that I have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, all of you will worship God on this mountain.”

  2. You came near and stood at the base of the mountain, a mountain blazing with fire to the heavens, with black clouds and deep darkness.

  10. The miner strikes the flint; he overturns mountains at their base.

  11. The mountains melt like wax at the presence of the LORD, before the Lord of all the earth.

  12. Raise a banner on a barren hilltop; call aloud to them. Wave your hand, that they may enter the gates of the nobles.

  13. All you people of the world and dwellers of the earth, when a banner is raised on the mountains, you will see it; when a ram’s horn sounds, you will hear it.

  14. A thousand will flee at the threat of one; at the threat of five you will all flee, until you are left alone like a pole on a mountaintop, like a banner on a hill.

  15. If only You would rend the heavens and come down, so that mountains would quake at Your presence,

  16. as fire kindles the brushwood and causes the water to boil, to make Your name known to Your enemies, so that the nations will tremble at Your presence!

  17. When You did awesome works that we did not expect, You came down, and the mountains trembled at Your presence.

  18. Now in the days of King Josiah, the LORD said to me, “Have you seen what faithless Israel has done? She has gone up on every high hill and under every green tree to prostitute herself there.

  19. The fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the beasts of the field, every creature that crawls upon the ground, and all mankind on the face of the earth will tremble at My presence. The mountains will be thrown down, the cliffs will collapse, and every wall will fall to the ground.

  20. They sacrifice on the mountaintops and burn offerings on the hills, under oak, poplar, and terebinth, because their shade is pleasant. And so your daughters turn to prostitution and your daughters-in-law to adultery.

  21. The mountains will melt beneath Him, and the valleys will split apart, like wax before the fire, like water rushing down a slope.

  22. The mountains quake before Him, and the hills melt away; the earth trembles at His presence— the world and all its dwellers.

  23. Again, the devil took Him to a very high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory.

  24. When Jesus saw the crowds, He went up on the mountain and sat down. His disciples came to Him,

  25. After He had sent them away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray. When evening came, He was there alone,
