  1. For You, O Lord GOD, as Your inheritance, have set them apart from all the peoples of the earth, as You spoke through Your servant Moses when You brought our fathers out of Egypt.”

  2. Now when Solomon had finished praying this entire prayer and petition to the LORD, he got up before the altar of the LORD, where he had been kneeling with his hands spread out toward heaven.

  3. And he stood and blessed the whole assembly of Israel in a loud voice, saying:

  4. “Blessed be the LORD, who has given rest to His people Israel according to all that He promised. Not one word has failed of all the good promises He made through His servant Moses.

  5. May the LORD our God be with us, as He was with our fathers. May He never leave us nor forsake us.

  6. May He incline our hearts to Himself, to walk in all His ways and to keep the commandments and statutes and ordinances He commanded our fathers.

  7. And may these words with which I have made my petition before the LORD be near to the LORD our God day and night, so that He may uphold the cause of His servant and of His people Israel as each day requires,

  8. so that all the peoples of the earth may know that the LORD is God. There is no other!

  9. So let your heart be fully devoted to the LORD our God, as it is this day, to walk in His statutes and to keep His commandments.”

  10. Then the king and all Israel with him offered sacrifices before the LORD.

  11. And Solomon offered as peace offerings to the LORD 22,000 oxen and 120,000 sheep. So the king and all the Israelites dedicated the house of the LORD.

  12. So at that time Solomon and all Israel with him—a very great assembly of people from Lebo-hamath to the Brook of Egypt—kept the feast for seven days.

  13. On the eighth day they held a solemn assembly, for the dedication of the altar had lasted seven days, and the feast seven days more.

  14. On the twenty-third day of the seventh month, Solomon sent the people away to their homes, joyful and glad of heart for the good things that the LORD had done for David, for Solomon, and for His people Israel.

  15. Then the people of Israel—the priests, the Levites, and the rest of the exiles—celebrated the dedication of the house of God with joy.

  16. For the dedication of the house of God they offered a hundred bulls, two hundred rams, four hundred lambs, and a sin offering for all Israel of twelve male goats, one for each tribe of Israel.

  17. At the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem, the Levites were sought out from all their homes and brought to Jerusalem to celebrate the joyous dedication with thanksgiving and singing, accompanied by cymbals, harps, and lyres.

  18. The singers were also assembled from the region around Jerusalem, from the villages of the Netophathites,

  19. from Beth-gilgal, and from the fields of Geba and Azmaveth, for they had built villages for themselves around Jerusalem.

  20. After the priests and Levites had purified themselves, they purified the people, the gates, and the wall.

  21. Then I brought the leaders of Judah up on the wall, and I appointed two great thanksgiving choirs. One was to proceed along the top of the wall to the right, toward the Dung Gate.

  22. Hoshaiah and half the leaders of Judah followed,

  23. along with Azariah, Ezra, Meshullam,

  24. Judah, Benjamin, Shemaiah, Jeremiah,

  25. and some of the priests with trumpets, and also Zechariah son of Jonathan, the son of Shemaiah, the son of Mattaniah, the son of Micaiah, the son of Zaccur, the son of Asaph,
