  1. then shall ye begin to say, We did eat and drink in thy presence, and thou didst teach in our streets;

  2. and he shall say, I tell you, I know not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.

  3. Salt therefore is good: but if even the salt have lost its savor, wherewith shall it be seasoned?

  4. It is fit neither for the land nor for the dunghill: men cast it out. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

  9. But if thou bearest the name of a Jew, and restest upon the law, and gloriest in God,

  10. and knowest his will, and approvest the things that are excellent, being instructed out of the law,

  11. and art confident that thou thyself art a guide of the blind, a light of them that are in darkness,

  12. a corrector of the foolish, a teacher of babes, having in the law the form of knowledge and of the truth;

  13. thou therefore that teachest another, teachest thou not thyself? thou that preachest a man should not steal, dost thou steal?

  14. thou that sayest a man should not commit adultery, dost thou commit adultery? thou that abhorrest idols, dost thou rob temples?

  15. thou who gloriest in the law, through thy transgression of the law dishonorest thou God?

  16. For the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you, even as it is written.

  17. For circumcision indeed profiteth, if thou be a doer of the law: but if thou be a transgressor of the law, thy circumcision is become uncircumcision.

  18. If therefore the uncircumcision keep the ordinances of the law, shall not his uncircumcision be reckoned for circumcision?

  19. and shall not the uncircumcision which is by nature, if it fulfil the law, judge thee, who with the letter and circumcision art a transgressor of the law?

  20. For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision which is outward in the flesh:

  21. but he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.

  22. Butit isnot as though the word of God hath come to nought. For they are not all Israel, that are of Israel:

  23. neither, because they are Abraham’s seed, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.

  24. For many walk, of whom I told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:

  25. whose end is perdition, whose god is the belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.
