  1. For the stars of the heavens, and their constellations, Cause not their light to shine, Darkened hath been the sun in its going out, And the moon causeth not its light to come forth.

  2. So that they know from the rising of the sun, And from the west, that there is none besides Me, I am Jehovah, and there is none else,

  3. They do not hunger, nor thirst, Nor smite them doth mirage and sun, For He who is pitying them doth lead them, And by fountains of waters doth tend them.

  6. Languished hath the bearer of seven, She hath breathed out her spirit, Gone in hath her sun while yet day, It hath been ashamed and confounded, And their residue to the sword I give up before their enemies, An affirmation of Jehovah.

  7. Thus said Jehovah, Who is giving the sun for a light by day, The statutes of moon and stars for a light by night, Quieting the sea when its billows roar, Jehovah of Hosts is His name:

  8. And He bringeth me in unto the inner court of the house of Jehovah, and lo, at the opening of the temple of Jehovah, between the porch and the altar, about twenty-five men, their backs toward the temple of Jehovah, and their faces eastward, and they are bowing themselves eastward to the sun.

  9. And in quenching thee I have covered the heavens, And have made black their stars, The sun with a cloud I do cover, And the moon causeth not its light to shine.

  10. And those teaching do shine as the brightness of the expanse, and those justifying the multitude as stars to the age and for ever.

  11. At their face trembled hath the earth, Shaken have the heavens, Sun and moon have been black, And stars have gathered up their shining.

  12. The sun is turned to darkness, and the moon to blood, Before the coming of the day of Jehovah, The great and the fearful.

  15. that ye may be sons of your Father in the heavens, because His sun He doth cause to rise on evil and good, and He doth send rain on righteous and unrighteous.

  16. `Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the reign of their Father. He who is having ears to hear--let him hear.

  17. and he was transfigured before them, and his face shone as the sun, and his garments did become white as the light,

  18. `And immediately after the tribulation of those days, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from the heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken;

  19. And evening having come, when the sun did set, they brought unto him all who were ill, and who were demoniacs,

  21. And it was, as it were, the sixth hour, and darkness came over all the land till the ninth hour,

  22. and the sun was darkened, and the vail of the sanctuary was rent in the midst,

  23. for the sun did rise with the burning heat, and did wither the grass, and the flower of it fell, and the grace of its appearance did perish, so also the rich in his way shall fade away!

  24. and having in his right hand seven stars, and out of his mouth a sharp two-edged sword is proceeding, and his countenance is as the sun shining in its might.

  25. and he did open the pit of the abyss, and there came up a smoke out of the pit as smoke of a great furnace, and darkened was the sun and the air, from the smoke of the pit.
