  1. Wherefore the well was called Beerlahairoi; behold, it is between Kadesh and Bered.

  2. And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water; and she went, and filled the bottle with water, and gave the lad drink.

  9. And the damsel was very fair to look upon, a virgin, neither had any man known her: and she went down to the well, and filled her pitcher, and came up.

  10. And when she had done giving him drink, she said, I will draw water for thy camels also, until they have done drinking.

  11. And she hasted, and emptied her pitcher into the trough, and ran again unto the well to draw water, and drew for all his camels.

  12. And I came this day unto the well, and said, O LORD God of my master Abraham, if now thou do prosper my way which I go:

  13. For all the wells which his father's servants had digged in the days of Abraham his father, the Philistines had stopped them, and filled them with earth.

  14. And Isaac digged again the wells of water, which they had digged in the days of Abraham his father; for the Philistines had stopped them after the death of Abraham: and he called their names after the names by which his father had called them.

  15. And the herdmen of Gerar did strive with Isaac's herdmen, saying, The water is ours: and he called the name of the well Esek; because they strove with him.

  16. And they digged another well, and strove for that also: and he called the name of it Sitnah.

  17. And he removed from thence, and digged another well; and for that they strove not: and he called the name of it Rehoboth; and he said, For now the LORD hath made room for us, and we shall be fruitful in the land.

  18. And he looked, and behold a well in the field, and, lo, there were three flocks of sheep lying by it; for out of that well they watered the flocks: and a great stone was upon the well's mouth.

  19. And thither were all the flocks gathered: and they rolled the stone from the well's mouth, and watered the sheep, and put the stone again upon the well's mouth in his place.

  20. And Jacob said unto them, My brethren, whence be ye? And they said, Of Haran are we.

  21. ¶ Joseph is a fruitful bough, even a fruitful bough by a well; whose branches run over the wall:

  22. ¶ Now the priest of Midian had seven daughters: and they came and drew water, and filled the troughs to water their father's flock.

  23. And the shepherds came and drove them away: but Moses stood up and helped them, and watered their flock.

  24. And they came to Elim, where were twelve wells of water, and threescore and ten palm trees: and they encamped there by the waters.

  25. Let us pass, I pray thee, through thy country: we will not pass through the fields, or through the vineyards, neither will we drink of the water of the wells: we will go by the king's high way, we will not turn to the right hand nor to the left, until we have passed thy borders.
