  1. For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.

  2. But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.

  3. For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.

  4. So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.

  5. Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way.

  6. I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean.

  9. For I know nothing by myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord.

  10. Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.

  11. ¶ For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it?

  12. ¶ Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

  13. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

  14. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

  15. ¶ Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

  16. Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;

  17. Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;

  18. ¶ Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.

  19. There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another?
