  1. Therefore they could not believe, because that Esaias said again,

  2. He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.

  3. And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.

  4. He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

  5. Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

  12. And saw him saying unto me, Make haste, and get thee quickly out of Jerusalem: for they will not receive thy testimony concerning me.

  13. And some believed the things which were spoken, and some believed not.

  14. For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

  15. For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect?

  16. He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;

  17. But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness.

  18. Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone;

  19. But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:)

  20. Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)

  21. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

  22. But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?

  23. But to Israel he saith, All day long I have stretched forth my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people.

  24. What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded

  25. Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:
