  1. They understood not that he spake to them of the Father.

  2. Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.

  3. And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.

  4. As he spake these words, many believed on him.

  10. I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

  11. The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

  12. I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.

  13. Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.

  14. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.

  15. And many of them said, He hath a devil, and is mad; why hear ye him?

  16. Others said, These are not the words of him that hath a devil. Can a devil open the eyes of the blind?

  17. But some of them went their ways to the Pharisees, and told them what things Jesus had done.

  18. Then gathered the chief priests and the Pharisees a council, and said, What do we? for this man doeth many miracles.

  19. If we let him thus alone, all men will believe on him: and the Romans shall come and take away both our place and nation.

  20. He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.

  21. If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.

  22. And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

  23. This he said, signifying what death he should die.

  24. The people answered him, We have heard out of the law that Christ abideth for ever: and how sayest thou, The Son of man must be lifted up? who is this Son of man?

  25. I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.
