  1. And king Solomon made a navy of ships in Eziongeber, which is beside Eloth, on the shore of the Red sea, in the land of Edom.

  2. And didst see the affliction of our fathers in Egypt, and heardest their cry by the Red sea;

  3. And shewedst signs and wonders upon Pharaoh, and on all his servants, and on all the people of his land: for thou knewest that they dealt proudly against them. So didst thou get thee a name, as it is this day.

  8. Our fathers understood not thy wonders in Egypt; they remembered not the multitude of thy mercies; but provoked him at the sea, even at the Red sea.

  9. Nevertheless he saved them for his name's sake, that he might make his mighty power to be known.

  10. He rebuked the Red sea also, and it was dried up: so he led them through the depths, as through the wilderness.

  11. And he saved them from the hand of him that hated them, and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.

  12. And the waters covered their enemies: there was not one of them left.

  13. Wondrous works in the land of Ham, and terrible things by the Red sea.

  14. To him which divided the Red sea into parts: for his mercy endureth for ever:

  15. And made Israel to pass through the midst of it: for his mercy endureth for ever:

  16. But overthrew Pharaoh and his host in the Red sea: for his mercy endureth for ever.

  17. Thus saith the LORD, which maketh a way in the sea, and a path in the mighty waters;

  18. Which bringeth forth the chariot and horse, the army and the power; they shall lie down together, they shall not rise: they are extinct, they are quenched as tow.

  19. He brought them out, after that he had shewed wonders and signs in the land of Egypt, and in the Red sea, and in the wilderness forty years.

  20. ¶ Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;

  21. And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;

  22. By faith they passed through the Red sea as by dry land: which the Egyptians assaying to do were drowned.
