  1. ¶ When a man's ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.

  2. ¶ Better is a dry morsel, and quietness therewith, than an house full of sacrifices with strife.

  3. ¶ The beginning of strife is as when one letteth out water: therefore leave off contention, before it be meddled with.

  11. And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the LORD for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace.

  12. Destruction cometh; and they shall seek peace, and there shall be none.

  13. And in that day will I make a covenant for them with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven, and with the creeping things of the ground: and I will break the bow and the sword and the battle out of the earth, and will make them to lie down safely.

  14. Thus saith the LORD of hosts; The fast of the fourth month, and the fast of the fifth, and the fast of the seventh, and the fast of the tenth, shall be to the house of Judah joy and gladness, and cheerful feasts; therefore love the truth and peace.

  16. And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death.

  17. And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.

  18. Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

  19. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

  20. And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

  21. Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his saltness, wherewith will ye season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another.

  22. Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

  23. And the next day he shewed himself unto them as they strove, and would have set them at one again, saying, Sirs, ye are brethren; why do ye wrong one to another?

  24. But he that did his neighbour wrong thrust him away, saying, Who made thee a ruler and a judge over us?
