  1. And Aaron said unto them, Break off the golden earrings, which are in the ears of your wives, of your sons, and of your daughters, and bring them unto me.

  2. And all the people brake off the golden earrings which were in their ears, and brought them unto Aaron.

  13. And if any man said unto him, Let them not fail to burn the fat presently, and then take as much as thy soul desireth; then he would answer him, Nay; but thou shalt give it me now: and if not, I will take it by force.

  14. Wherefore the sin of the young men was very great before the LORD: for men abhorred the offering of the LORD.

  18. Whereupon the king took counsel, and made two calves of gold, and said unto them, It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem: behold thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.

  19. And he set the one in Bethel, and the other put he in Dan.

  20. And this thing became a sin: for the people went to worship before the one, even unto Dan.

  21. He said unto him, I am a prophet also as thou art; and an angel spake unto me by the word of the LORD, saying, Bring him back with thee into thine house, that he may eat bread and drink water. But he lied unto him.

  22. So he went back with him, and did eat bread in his house, and drank water.

  23. And it came to pass, as they sat at the table, that the word of the LORD came unto the prophet that brought him back:

  24. And he cried unto the man of God that came from Judah, saying, Thus saith the LORD, Forasmuch as thou hast disobeyed the mouth of the LORD, and hast not kept the commandment which the LORD thy God commanded thee,

  25. But camest back, and hast eaten bread and drunk water in the place, of the which the LORD did say to thee, Eat no bread, and drink no water; thy carcase shall not come unto the sepulchre of thy fathers.
