  1. ¶ Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,

  2. But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:

  3. But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

  4. Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

  5. And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:

  6. That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

  7. ¶ Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:

  8. But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:

  9. For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!

  10. For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation of the gospel is committed unto me.

  11. What is my reward then? Verily that, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel of Christ without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel.

  12. ¶ Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

  13. By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

  14. ¶ Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.

  15. But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away:

  16. How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious?

  17. For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory.

  18. For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth.

  19. For if that which is done away was glorious, much more that which remaineth is glorious.

  20. But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:

  21. In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

  22. (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)

  23. Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

  24. In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

  25. Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
