  1. For he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue.

  2. Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof:

  3. Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed.

  4. For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.

  5. When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.

  6. And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace.

  7. While he yet spake, there cometh one from the ruler of the synagogue's house, saying to him, Thy daughter is dead; trouble not the Master.

  8. But when Jesus heard it, he answered him, saying, Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole.

  9. ¶ And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.

  10. The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.

  11. Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?

  12. And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit?

  13. If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest?

  14. Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

  15. If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?

  16. And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.

  17. For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.

  18. But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.

  19. Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

  20. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

  21. That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

  22. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

  23. Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.

  24. And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.

  25. And many resorted unto him, and said, John did no miracle: but all things that John spake of this man were true.
