  1. Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house:

  2. For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.

  3. And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage:

  4. But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage:

  11. And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.

  12. And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.

  13. But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?

  14. Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.

  15. And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things.

  16. And the young men arose, wound him up, and carried him out, and buried him.

  17. And it was about the space of three hours after, when his wife, not knowing what was done, came in.

  18. And Peter answered unto her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much? And she said, Yea, for so much.

  19. Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out.

  20. Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her forth, buried her by her husband.

  21. God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

  22. Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

  23. Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

  24. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

  25. Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
