  1. With twelve hundred chariots and threescore thousand horsemen: and the people were without number that came with him out of Egypt, to wit, Libyans, and Troglodites, and Ethiopians.

  10. In the year that king Ozias died, I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne high and elevated: and his train filled the temple.

  11. Upon it stood the seraphims: the one had six wings, and the other had six wings: with two they covered his face, and with two they covered his feet, and with two they flew.

  12. And they cried one to another, and said: Holy, holy, holy, the Lord God of hosts, all the earth is full of his glory,

  13. And the lintels of the doors were moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.

  14. And I said: Woe is me, because I have held my peace; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people that hath unclean lips, and I have seen with my eyes the King the Lord of hosts.

  15. And one of the seraphims flew to me, and in his hand was a live coal, which he had taken with the tongs off the altar.

  16. And he touched my mouth, and said: Behold this hath touched thy lips, and thy iniquities shall be taken away, and thy sin shall be cleansed.

  17. And I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: Whom shall I send? and who shall go for us? And I said: Lo, here am I, send me.

  18. And the Lord said to me: The prophets prophesy falsely in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, nor have I spoken to them: they prophesy unto you a lying vision, and divination and deceit, and the seduction of their own heart.

  19. Thus saith the Lord of hosts: Hearken not to the words of the prophets that prophesy to you, and deceive you: they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the Lord.

  20. Teth. Her gates are sunk into the ground: he hath destroyed, and broken her bars: her king and her princes are among the Gentiles: the law is no more, and her prophets have found no vision from the Lord.

  21. And I saw, and behold a whirlwind came out of the north: and a great cloud, and a fire infolding it, and brightness was about it: and out of the midst thereof, that is, out of the midst of the fire, as it were the resemblance of amber:

  22. And in the midst thereof the likeness of four living creatures: and this was their appearance: there was the likeness of a man in them.

  23. Every one had four faces, and every one four wings.

  24. Their feet were straight feet, and the sole of their foot was like the sole of a calf's foot, and they sparkled like the appearance of glowing brass.

  25. And they had the hands of a man under their wings on their four sides: and they had faces, and wings on the four sides,
