But beware of men. For they will deliver you up in councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues.
And you shall be brought before governors, and before kings for my sake, for a testimony to them and to the Gentiles:
But when they shall deliver you up, take no thought how or what to speak: for it shall be given you in that hour what to speak:
For it is not you that speak, but the spirit of your Father that speaketh in you.
The brother also shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the son; and the children shall rise up against their parents, and shall put them to death.
And you shall be hated by all men for my name's sake: but he that shall persevere unto the end, he shall be saved.
And behold one came and said to him: Good master, what good shall I do that I may have life everlasting?
Who said to him: Why askest thou me concerning good? One is good, God. But if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
He said to him: Which? And Jesus said: Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness.
Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.
The young man saith to him: All these have I kept from my youth, what is yet wanting to me?
Jesus saith to him: If thou wilt be perfect, go sell what thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.
And when the young man had heard this word, he went away sad: for he had great possessions.
And a certain ruler asked him, saying: Good master, what shall I do to possess everlasting life?
And Jesus said to him: Why dost thou call me good? None is good but God alone.
Thou knowest the commandments: Thou shalt not kill. Thou shalt not commit adultery: Thou shalt not steal: Thou shalt not bear false witness: Honour thy father and mother.
Who said: All these things have I kept from my youth.
Which when Jesus had heard, he said to him: Yet one thing is wanting to thee. Sell all whatever thou hast and give to the poor: and thou shalt have treasure in heaven. And come, follow me.
He having heard these things, became sorrowful: for he was very rich.
And Jesus seeing him become sorrowful, said: How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God
